What is finiteloop.org?
finiteloop.org is an online utopia set up by several like-minded geeks who wanted internet services that were:
- Completely under their own control
- Free from quotas and unnecessary usage restrictions
- Feature-rich
- Cheap
- Communal
pit, our first server (originally an acronym for Personal IT), was set up in 2002. The original members formed a charter that defined levels of membership, voting procedures, and other terms. Since then, word has spread and we have gained several additional members who use pit for their email, web hosting, or general online happiness.
If you're interested in hosting a site with finiteloop.org, send email to

(without the "stopspam" part) and we'll get back to you. Historically, we've only offered accounts to friends and family, but we're willing to consider anybody who is looking for good, cheap hosting.
